Job Description

Job Summary:
The Pantry Porter is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, organization, and proper stock levels within pantry, kitchen, and storage areas. This role supports culinary and food service operations by ensuring supplies are readily available, workspaces remain sanitary, and food safety standards are consistently upheld. The Pantry Porter plays a key role in helping the kitchen team operate efficiently and deliver exceptional service.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of pantry, kitchen, storage, and food preparation areas Wash, sanitize, and properly store dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment Organize and stock pantry supplies, food products, and inventory according to established procedures Receive, inspect, and store deliveries, ensuring products are handled and rotated properly Monitor pantry inventory levels and notify supervisors of low-stock items Assist with basic food preparation tasks as directed by kitchen leadership Remove trash, recyclables, and food waste while maintaining a clean and safe work environment Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety regulations Support kitchen and service teams during busy operational periods as needed Report maintenance, equipment, or safety concerns to the appropriate supervisor Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude while working with team members Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Previous experience in a kitchen, hospitality, food service, or stewarding role Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation practices Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Dependable, punctual, and able to follow instructions effectively Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team Strong communication skills and a positive, service-oriented attitude Ability to adapt to changing priorities and operational needs Ability to lift, carry, and move supplies and equipment as required Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays Perform other duties as assigned
