Janitor/Cleaner Appleton, WI 54913 $15.00 - $15.75 an hour - Part-time $15.00 - $15.75 an hour - Part-time Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and diligent Janitor/Cleaner to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across our facilities. This role involves performing a variety of cleaning tasks to ensure all areas are hygienic, organized, and well-maintained. The ideal candidate will be energetic, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering high standards of cleanliness that support a positive experience for staff and visitors alike. This paid position offers an opportunity to contribute to a well-kept environment while developing valuable custodial skills. Responsibilities Perform routine cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and trash removal across all designated areas. Handle chemical agents safely for cleaning and disinfecting surfaces, ensuring compliance with safety protocols. Operate floor buffers and other custodial equipment to maintain polished floors and proper floor care. Conduct heavy lifting tasks using safe lifting practices when moving furniture, supplies, or equipment. Maintain cleanliness of restrooms, kitchens, hallways, offices, and common areas with attention to detail. Assist with industrial cleaning tasks and facilities maintenance as needed to support overall building operations. Follow safety procedures diligently during manual handling and chemical agent handling to prevent accidents or injuries. Skills Proven experience in cleaning or janitorial roles with knowledge of commercial or industrial cleaning standards. Familiarity with custodial equipment such as floor buffers and carpet cleaners. Ability to handle chemical agents safely while adhering to health and safety regulations. Strong manual handling skills with an emphasis on safe lifting practices for heavy objects. Experience in facilities maintenance or porter work is highly desirable. Knowledge of residential painting or general upkeep can be an added advantage. Excellent attention to detail with a proactive approach to maintaining cleanliness standards at all times.
