Job Description

Franklin Public Schools is seeking a motivated and customer service oriented individual to join our Buildings & Grounds Team! This position requires someone who can work the following schedule: Wednesday - Friday (2nd shift), Saturday & Sunday (1st shift), and off Monday & Tuesday. The schedule can slightly fluctuate depending upon activities in the building with the opportunity for over time. Summer hours offer more flexibility. Department Goal To provide the best opportunities for the community by making sure the facility is in a safe, healthy, clean, efficient, and attractive condition. Essential Job Functions Perform, coordinate and assist in setting up for various building uses. Respond to community requests in an efficient and positive manner. Provide leadership for assigned personnel. Perform all assigned cleaning tasks. Assign duties to and work cooperatively with assigned staff. Replenish supplies (paper, soap, etc.) and remove trash as needed. Maintain tools and equipment according to manufacturers recommendations. Secure building/area as needed. Qualifications Ability to exercise good judgment in carrying out assignments. Initiative and self-motivation to work independently. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) in order to effectively work with staff, students, parents, community and outside suppliers. Good manual and mechanical ability to troubleshoot and repair a variety of minor plumbing, electrical and mechanical equipment. Ability to work independently in a variety of environmental situations including indoors, outdoors (summer and winter), work from a ladder or mechanical lift from various heights and in confined spaces. Knowledgeable in accepted cleaning/maintenance practices. Such alternatives to the qualifications as the district finds appropriate and acceptable. Possession of a valid Wisconsin driver's license.
