Job Description

The Environmental Service Technician is a member of the healthcare team, working under the direct supervision of the Environmental Service Director and Supervisor. Responsible for maintaining a hygienic, safe and attractive environment for patients, residents, tenants, visitors and staff.
Responsibilities/Duties:
Adheres to STAR standards and exhibits all characteristics that encompass the culture at Tamarack Health HMC EVS. Performs all assigned tasks in a professional manner in order to reflect the highest integrity of the Environmental Service department. Performs cleaning and maintenance of all floors; carpets, tile, concrete and brick flooring throughout the facility. Completes work assignments in a timely manner. Utilizes the appropriate chemicals, supplies and cleaning techniques according to procedure and manufacturer's recommendations. Dispenses cleaning agents according to manufacturer's directions. Performs restoration functions on highly soiled or worn areas. Operates and maintains all equipment correctly and safely. Observes safety precautions at all times. Uses safety signs, Wet Floor and ropes off sections of floor for cleaning where appropriate. Reports safety hazards as appropriate. Transports trash and hazardous waste to appropriate disposal area. Replenishes supplies to par levels; notifies department leaders when supplies need to be ordered. Sufficient in routine A, B, C, RCAC, & Laundry. Performs other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience:
High School graduate or equivalent preferred. Previous experience in commercial cleaning and disinfecting preferred.
