Responsibilities Perform thorough cleaning of classrooms, hallways, restrooms, cafeterias, gyms, and common areas using appropriate cleaning tools and supplies. Conduct routine floor care activities including sweeping, mopping, buffing, stripping, waxing, and polishing to keep floors in excellent condition. Maintain cleanliness of windows, doors, furniture, and fixtures to uphold a pristine appearance throughout the school. Handle janitorial tasks such as trash removal, restocking supplies, disinfecting high-touch surfaces, and ensuring restrooms are sanitary at all times. Assist with light maintenance duties including minor repairs and painting as needed to support facilities upkeep. Operate commercial cleaning equipment safely and efficiently while adhering to safety protocols. Collaborate with staff to address specific cleaning needs or special events requiring additional custodial support. Requirements Proven janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or residential settings; prior school custodial experience is a plus. Knowledge of cleaning techniques including floor care procedures such as buffing, stripping, waxing, and polishing. Ability to operate cleaning machinery and tools safely and effectively. Strong attention to detail with a proactive approach to maintaining cleanliness standards. Physical stamina to perform manual tasks including lifting, bending, reaching, and standing for extended periods. Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
