Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic School Janitor to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. In this vital role, you will be responsible for performing a variety of cleaning and custodial tasks across the school premises. Your efforts will ensure that the facility remains hygienic, well-maintained, and conducive to learning and growth. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a positive school atmosphere while developing your skills in facilities maintenance. Duties Perform routine cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash removal, and restroom sanitation to uphold cleanliness standards. Conduct floor care activities such as buffing, waxing, stripping, and polishing to maintain safe and attractive flooring throughout the school. Handle custodial responsibilities involving the cleaning of windows, walls, furniture, and fixtures with attention to detail. Ensure all cleaning supplies and equipment are properly stored, maintained, and used safely in accordance with safety protocols. Follow health and safety guidelines diligently to prevent accidents and ensure a secure environment for everyone on campus. Experience Prior janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or residential settings is highly preferred. Knowledge of cleaning techniques and general sanitation practices. Familiarity with cleaning equipment like floor scrubbers, vacuums, and mopping. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of cleanliness. Strong attention to detail coupled with good organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
