You will work collaboratively with team members to prepare, cook, and serve meals that delight our customers and support their well-being. Duties Assist with food preparation and cooking, following established recipes and menu plans to ensure consistency and quality Handle food safely by adhering to proper food handling procedures and maintaining cleanliness standards in the kitchen Support meal assembly and portioning for various service lines or catering events Maintain organized workstations, including knife skills for efficient ingredient preparation Contribute to menu planning efforts by providing feedback on recipes and ingredient needs Serve food to customers or clients in a courteous, professional manner, ensuring a positive dining experience Help with food inventory management, including stocking supplies and rotating stock to prevent waste Follow all health and safety regulations related to kitchen operations and food industry standards Experience Previous experience working in a dietary department or as a dietary aide is highly desirable Experience in food preparation, cooking, or restaurant service demonstrates strong foundational skills Knowledge of food safety protocols and proper food handling practices is essential Culinary experience including meal preparation, catering, or serving in a food industry setting is preferred Skills in knife handling, menu planning, and food presentation will set candidates apart Familiarity with kitchen equipment and tools used in professional cooking environments is advantageous Prior work involving dietary services or healthcare food services can provide valuable insight into specialized meal requirements
