POSITION SUMMARY
The Kitchen Staff is responsible for supporting kitchen operations by preparing ingredients, cooking food, and maintaining a clean and sanitary work environment. This position requires adherence to company recipes and standards, attention to detail, and a commitment to cleanliness and food safety.
PRINCIPAL
DUTIES and
RESPONSIBILITIES 1.
Prepare ingredients for daily menu items, including washing, cutting, chopping, peeling, and sorting. 2. Cook menu items using a variety of techniques (e.g., deep frying, grilling, broiling, baking, boiling), following Shin-Sen-Gumi recipes and presentation standards. 3. Scrape food from dirty dishes and wash them by hand or place them in racks or on conveyor to dish-washing machine. 4. Clean pots, pans, and trays manually as needed. 5. Maintain cleanliness throughout the kitchen, including sweeping and mopping floors, wiping counters, and sanitizing surfaces. 6. Take out trash and ensure waste is disposed of properly. 7. Keep kitchen equipment, appliances, and tools (e.g., stove, oven, refrigerator, griddle) clean and in good working condition. 8. Work safely around kitchen equipment and report any maintenance or safety issues promptly. 9. Monitor and record temperatures of all refrigerators and freezers regularly. 10. Move supplies and equipment between storage and kitchen areas. 11. Assist in tracking inventory and report when items need restocking. 12. Maintain a clean, neat, and professional personal appearance. 13. Follow all Department of Public Health regulations and other applicable laws and guidelines. 14. Arrive on time and perform assigned tasks efficiently and reliably. 15. Actively participate in team meetings and contribute to team success. 16. Complete required documentation and key shift responsibilities. 17. Follow company policies, procedures, and the restaurant's operations manual. 18. Perform other duties as assigned by the Kitchen Manager or Store Manager. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and
ABILITIES REQUIRED 1.
Valid Food Handler's Card (required). 2. Basic understanding of kitchen sanitation, equipment use, knife safety, and simple math. 3. Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-energy environment. 4. Strong multi-tasking and communication skills with a customer-focused attitude. 5. Ability to measure ingredients accurately and follow instructions precisely. 6. Professional behavior with a willingness to adapt and learn. 7. Physical ability to lift and carry supplies and perform kitchen-related tasks for extended periods.
