Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Sushi Helper to join our team. The Sushi Helper supports our sushi chefs with daily preparation and back-of-house operations. This role is essential to ensure smooth service, consistent food quality, and a clean, organized kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in preparing ingredients (washing, cutting, portioning, marinating, labeling). Set up and maintain sushi prep stations. Prepare basic rolls, sides, and garnishes as instructed by the chef. Cook and season sushi rice following established recipes. Maintain cleanliness of workstations, knives, equipment, and storage areas. Receive, check, and organize seafood deliveries and dry goods. Follow food safety, sanitation, and restaurant policies. Support sushi chefs during service with plating, prep, and refills. Assist with end-of-day cleaning and closing duties.

Qualifications:

Minimum 1 year of sushi experience (restaurant or sushi bar preferred). Knife skills and familiarity with fish handling. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Strong work ethic with attention to detail. Ability to stand for long periods. Positive attitude and willingness to learn. Passion for Japanese food or culinary arts is a plus.
