KITCHEN EXPO
(EXPEDITOR) Position Summary The Kitchen Expo (Expeditor) is responsible for coordinating communication between the kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure orders are prepared accurately, efficiently, and according to guest specifications. This position requires strong multitasking skills, attention to detail, and the ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced restaurant environment. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Coordinate communication between kitchen and front-of-house staff. Prepare salads and cold-side menu items according to restaurant recipes and standards. Prep ingredients for daily service, including washing, portioning, chopping, and organizing produce and other ingredients. Stock and maintain prep stations throughout the shift. Monitor ingredient levels and communicate restocking needs to kitchen leadership. Assist with food preparation and kitchen support tasks as directed by management. Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department guidelines during food preparation and storage. Review, organize, and prioritize tickets during service. Ensure orders are prepared accurately and according to guest requests. Verify special dietary modifications and food allergies, including: Gluten-free Vegan Vegetarian Shellfish allergies Other food allergies and dietary restrictions Monitor ticket times and maintain efficient order flow during peak service periods. Communicate clearly with chefs regarding order modifications, dietary restrictions, and ticket priorities. Conduct final quality checks before food leaves the kitchen. Assist in maintaining cleanliness, organization, and food safety standards at the expo station. Support team members as needed to ensure smooth restaurant operations. Qualifications Fluency in Lao and/or Thai is required for daily communication with kitchen staff. Applicants must already have this language skill when applying. No Lao or Thai language training will be provided. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant environment. Strong organizational and multitasking skills. Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities. Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Knowledge of food allergies, dietary restrictions, and modification procedures preferred. Ability to communicate effectively with kitchen staff in Lao and/or Thai Language for daily operational communication. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout scheduled shifts. Ability to work in a hot, busy kitchen environment. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining accuracy and efficiency. Schedule & Availability Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required. Must be dependable, punctual, and able to maintain a positive attitude during busy service periods.
