All About the Pastry Cook Role The Pastry Cook plays an important role in creating memorable guest experiences by preparing high-quality pastries, desserts, artisanal breads, and specialty baked goods served throughout Belmont Park. Working closely with the Pastry Lead and Chef de Cuisine, this position supports the daily operations of the pastry and bakery department while maintaining Belmont Park's standards for quality, creativity, presentation, and guest satisfaction. Your Role at Belmont Park As a Pastry Cook, you help bring creativity and quality to Belmont Park's culinary experiences through thoughtfully prepared desserts and baked goods. By supporting daily pastry production, maintaining kitchen standards, and contributing innovative ideas, you play an important role in delivering memorable food experiences for guests across the park. What You'll Be Doing Pastry & Bakery Production Prepare and produce pastries, desserts, breads, and baked goods according to established recipes and standards Set up workstations with necessary ingredients, tools, and equipment for daily production Maintain consistency, quality, and presentation across all dessert offerings Ensure proper handling, storage, labeling, and temperature control of food products Monitor inventory levels and assist with stock rotation and ordering to minimize waste and shortages Creativity & Menu Development Assist with developing new pastries, desserts, and seasonal menu offerings Create customized cakes and specialty baked goods for banquets, weddings, and special events Contribute creative ideas that enhance the guest culinary experience while maintaining operational standards Kitchen Operations & Sanitation Support day-to-day operations within the pastry and bakery section of the kitchen Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of work areas and equipment in accordance with health and safety standards Inspect equipment regularly and report maintenance concerns or safety hazards to management Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures Collaboration & Support Work collaboratively with culinary leadership and kitchen team members to ensure efficient operations Assist other kitchen locations or departments as needed to support business demands Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Pastry Lead or Chef de Cuisine Who You Are Passionate about baking, pastry creation, and culinary excellence Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to quality and presentation Creative and eager to contribute new ideas and seasonal offerings Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment A reliable team player with strong communication and organizational skills What You Bring Previous pastry, bakery, or culinary experience preferred Knowledge of baking techniques, pastry preparation, and food safety standards Ability to follow recipes and production schedules accurately Ability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed Strong attention to detail and commitment to consistency and quality Belmont Park LLC is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Ability to stand and maintain mobility for extended periods of time, up to four hours continuously Frequently required to bend, kneel, stoop, reach, and squat while handling supplies, equipment, and food products Ability to lift, move, and transport kitchen supplies and equipment as needed Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, vendors, and guestsSkills/Qualifications:
6 months to 1 year of experience as a Pastry Cook, Pantry Cook, or similar culinary role preferred Minimum of 2 years of experience in a high-volume restaurant, resort, entertainment venue, or theme park environment preferred Knowledge of pastry preparation techniques, baking methods, and dessert presentation Understanding of recipe execution and recipe development Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures Strong organizational and time management skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Ability to stand, walk, and/or remain stationary for prolonged periods of timeExpected Hours of Work:
Flexible availability is required, including nights, holidays, and peak seasons. Team members must maintain open availability for at least two of the three weekend days: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.Testing/Work Authorization:
