Kitchen Assistant / Prep Cook Job Overview We are seeking a reliable and experienced Kitchen Assistant / Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate must have prior experience working in a professional kitchen and be skilled in basic knife work and ingredient preparation. In this role, you will support the chefs by preparing ingredients, maintaining kitchen organization, and ensuring smooth daily kitchen operations. This position requires efficiency, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced restaurant environment. Responsibilities Perform daily food preparation and ingredient cutting , including vegetables, meats, and other ingredients required by the kitchen Demonstrate solid knife skills and cutting techniques to ensure consistency and quality Assist chefs with mise en place and ingredient preparation before and during service Follow recipes and kitchen instructions to support cooking and plating processes Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen workstations, tools, and equipment Ensure proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices in accordance with food safety standards Assist with dishwashing and waste management when necessary to keep the kitchen clean and efficient Support kitchen operations during busy service periods and assist with special events or catering when required Requirements Previous experience working in a restaurant kitchen is required Strong knife skills and experience with ingredient cutting and preparation Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation standards Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail Ability to follow instructions and work well as part of a team Preferred Qualifications Experience working in Chinese cuisine or Asian kitchen environments Familiarity with kitchen prep work such as vegetable cutting, meat portioning, and ingredient organization This is a great opportunity to join a professional kitchen team and contribute to delivering high-quality dishes to our guests.
