In this energetic role, you will support the creation of laminated pastries, teacakes, poached fruits and fruit compotes while ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality. Duties Assist in preparing laminated pastry dough following established recipes and standards Working with high quality, organic ingredients and being attentive to proper usage; avoiding waste Support food production processes by precisely measuring ingredients, mixing dough, and efficiently working with recipes to create the best result Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, working with others around the table and adhering to strict food safety protocols Handle food with care, ensuring proper storage, labeling, and rotation of ingredients to preserve freshness Provide excellent customer service by answering questions about baked goods and offering product recommendations when needed Qualifications Previous pastry or bakery experience is highly desirable; familiarity with yeasted heavy dough mixing and folding processes is beneficial Strong dough handling skills with an attention to temperature and texture is advantageous Knowledge of food handling safety standards and proper hygiene practices Experience in food preparation, including measuring ingredients and following recipes accurately Effectively working with a solid schedule within a recipe to provide the best result Understand and interpret recipes to effectively problem solve with support Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently in a busy environment Excellent knife skills for precise cutting and prepping of fruits & veggies Background in the food industry or restaurant experience is a plus but not mandatory; eagerness to learn and support is key Join us if you're passionate about creating beautiful, delicate layered pastries and specialty foods.
