The ideal candidate will have experience in various aspects of food handling and preparation, contributing to the overall efficiency of the kitchen operations. Duties Assist in the preparation and cooking of meals according to established recipes and dietary guidelines. Perform food handling tasks, including washing, chopping, and measuring ingredients. Support menu planning by providing input on seasonal ingredients and dish ideas. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations. Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, demonstrating proper knife skills and cooking techniques. Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service during peak hours. Participate in catering events as needed, helping to set up and serve food items. Adhere to all health and safety protocols while handling food products. Requirements Previous experience in a dietary department or as a dietary aide is preferred. Familiarity with menu planning, meal preparation, and food service operations is essential. Experience in a restaurant or culinary environment is advantageous. Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations is required. Excellent knife skills and cooking techniques are necessary for success in this role. Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while maintaining a positive attitude. Flexibility to adapt to changing kitchen demands and schedules is important.
