Responsibilities Assist in food preparation by chopping, slicing, and assembling ingredients according to established recipes and menu plans. Support cooking activities by following proper techniques and safety protocols to produce appealing dishes. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and managing waste disposal. Handle food with care, adhering strictly to food safety standards to prevent contamination and ensure quality. Participate in menu planning discussions and help with portioning ingredients for meal service. Serve food efficiently during meal times, ensuring timely delivery and presentation that meets quality standards. Assist with catering events or special functions by preparing and serving food as directed. Skills Proven experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of food handling procedures, safety standards, and sanitation practices. Experience with menu planning, meal preparation, and cooking techniques within a restaurant or food industry setting. Excellent knife skills and proficiency in basic food preparation tasks. Familiarity with food service operations, including serving and catering functions. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper hygiene practices to ensure a safe dining environment.
