We're a high-volume seasonal spot serving beachgoers from Memorial Day weekend through the end of September, open 10 AM to 10 PM, seven days a week. You'll be the face of Luca's — taking orders, scooping ice cream, blending smoothies, and making sure every customer leaves happy. Staff may be scheduled at either the Beach Kitchen or the Creamery depending on the day. This is a great fit if you're energetic, friendly, and like working with people in a fun, fast-moving environment. What you'll do Greet customers warmly, take orders accurately, and run the register / ordering handhelds Scoop ice cream, make shakes, smoothies, and slushies Know the menu — flavors, sizes, allergens, and specials — well enough to guide customers and answer questions Keep your station clean and stocked through service — refill toppings, cups, napkins, and ice as you go Help with opening prep (cutting strawberries, baking brownies/cookies, prepping bowls) and closing cleanup (wiping stations, washing trays, sweeping, mopping) Keep the patio, bathroom, and front counter clean throughout your shift — if there's time to lean, there's time to clean Communicate clearly with teammates so orders go out fast and correctly What we're looking for Energetic, positive, and genuinely friendly — you like talking to people Team player who jumps in without being asked Reliable attendance and good communication (including using the When I Work app for availability and time-off requests) Comfortable standing, moving, and lifting through a busy shift Quick to learn a wide menu and confident handling cash and card transactions Must be at least 16 years old Must be available to work weekends and seasonal holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day) No prior experience required — we'll train you Compensation & details $18.00/hour starting rate, paid as full Connecticut minimum wage in cash with no tip credit Plus tip pool — all tips are distributed on top of your hourly rate, per our Tip Pool Agreement Overtime at time-and-a-half for hours over 40 in a workweek Direct deposit through Toast Payroll, weekly schedules posted in advance Seasonal position (Memorial Day weekend through end of September) Classified as non-exempt, hourly, seasonal under Connecticut law
