Job Description

The mission of Christ the Cornerstone(CtC ) is to love God and love people so that all may experience the life-changing love of Jesus. The Kitchen Member follows the instructions from the Kitchen Manager to prepare menus, and maintain equipment for the weekday ministries of the school, senior center, and church programs. The successful candidate will have excellent communication, organizational, and people skills; be a self-motivated person able to run the kitchen in the Manager's absence; and affirm and exemplify the Christian values and purpose of Christ the Cornerstone. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist in preparation of monthly menus, with approval from the directors of the following groups: School, approved by the school Director Senior Center, approved by Sr. Center Director Hope Lunch, Wednesday only, approved by Serving Ministry Director Lunch meals for teachers and ministry staff Assist in planning menus that meet the dietary needs of the persons served and/or provide a nutritionally equal alternative menu items i.e.,gluten, nuts, and/or other allergens. Prepare and serve the following meals and snacks, with serving utensils and supplies: Mon-Fri. Breakfast, lunch, and snacks for all children in every school program Lunch for Sr. Center and Hope Lunch as scheduled Lunch for staff, Tues. - Fri. Maintain the kitchen, serving, and storage areas according to Delaware Dept. of Health safety and sanitazation standards. Follow personnel policies and state regulations. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Excellent knowledge and skills with Delaware Dept. Of Health policies and guidelines for school and senior center nutritional standards. Trusts and is committed to following the teachings of Jesus Christ Continually seeks excellence and improvement as needed and appropriate Qualifications Spiritually mature, responsive attitude, flexibility Effectively manage a production schedule Attention to detail, problem solving and proven management skills Background check clearance is required Must have own reliable transportation Education and Experience some experience working in the kitchen (willing to train) Servsafe certificate •
