Job Description

Position Summary The Biblical History Center is seeking a dependable and hardworking full-time team member to assist with kitchen operations, facility cleanliness, and general support tasks across campus. This position will primarily support kitchen operations during meal service preparation and cleanup while also helping maintain a clean, professional, and welcoming environment for visitors, guests, and staff. During non-kitchen hours, this role will assist with janitorial responsibilities and small facilities-related projects under the direction of the Facilities Manager. This role is critical to supporting day-to-day operations and relieving pressure on existing staff by ensuring the facility remains organized, clean, and operational. Primary ResponsibilitiesKitchen Support Assist with meal preparation and kitchen setup Wash dishes and maintain kitchen cleanliness throughout service Help organize food storage and supplies Assist with food prep and restocking as directed Support meal service operations during tours and special events Maintain sanitation standards and food safety procedures Cleaning & Janitorial Duties Clean restrooms, visitor spaces, classrooms, offices, and common areas Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and sanitize facility spaces Remove trash and maintain outdoor trash areas Help maintain cleanliness standards across the campus Monitor cleaning supply inventory and notify supervisor when supplies are low Facilities Support Assist the Facilities Manager with small maintenance and campus support tasks Help with room setups, event preparation, and moving materials when needed Perform basic operational tasks such as replacing light bulbs, organizing storage areas, minor repairs, or grounds assistance Support campus readiness for events, tours, and large visitor groups Qualifications Preferred qualifications include: Prior kitchen, custodial, hospitality, or facilities experience Ability to work independently and follow directions Strong work ethic and reliability Positive attitude and willingness to assist across departments Ability to work in a fast-paced environment during events and meal service Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Ability to perform physical cleaning and operational tasks throughout the campus Ability to work indoors and outdoors when needed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Performance will be evaluated based on: Kitchen Operations Kitchen cleanliness maintained throughout daily operations Timely completion of setup and cleanup responsibilities Reliable support during meal service and events Facility Cleanliness Restrooms and public areas consistently maintained to organizational standards Cleaning tasks completed thoroughly and on schedule Campus appearance maintained at a professional visitor-ready level Reliability & Team Support Attendance and punctuality Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks independently Willingness to assist where operational needs arise Positive collaboration with staff and leadership Schedule Expectations This role will primarily follow the Biblical History Center's operational schedule of Tuesday-Saturday, with occasional flexibility required for special events or high-volume programming days. Pay:
$16.00 - $19.00 per hour
