Job Description

Company Overview Koha Foods is one of Hawai'i's largest Asian and specialty food distributors, proudly serving the islands since 1984. We supply restaurants, supermarkets, local vendors, and retail stores with a wide range of food products—including our own high-quality Korean specialty items, as well as local favorites like kimchi and boiled peanuts. As we continue to grow, we are looking for dependable Food Processing Staff to join our production team and support daily food manufacturing operations. Job Description As part of the Koha Foods Processing team, the Food Processing Staff position assists with preparing, producing, and packaging finished food products in accordance with company standards and food safety regulations. This role supports production goals while maintaining accuracy, cleanliness, and quality throughout the processing operation. Essential Functions Transport ingredients safely between storage and production areas Select, weigh, and measure ingredients accurately to meet production specifications Follow recipes and production procedures to prepare and package food products Clean, inspect, and prepare bottles and containers for final packaging Properly label ingredients and finished products in compliance with food safety and legal requirements Count, track, and maintain accurate inventory levels Maintain clean, sanitary processing areas in compliance with HACCP standards Perform other duties as assigned by the Processing Manager Desired Skills and Qualifications Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to follow safety standards, protocols, and production procedures Basic math and measurement skills Effective communication skills Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Food processing or food safety handling experience preferred Fish cutting experience is a plus Required Education and Experience High school diploma or GED preferred Ability to work in refrigerated and freezer environments (up to 45°F) Ability to push and/or pull up to 50 pounds Work Environment This position operates in a food production and processing environment that may include refrigerated or cold areas. Employees must follow strict sanitation and food safety standards.
