Position Summary The Floater provides temporary support across Noble Charter School locations, filling in for staff absences, covering high-demand periods, or assisting with special projects. Flexibility, Adaptability, Responsiveness and Communication are critical to success as the Floater. Essential Duties and Key Responsibilities Cascades the vision of Quest Food Management Services ensuring the Quest vision, values andfounding principles are effectively communicated, understood and practiced. Travel between designated school locations as assigned to assist with food service operations. Quest Food Management will provide transportation to the floater from their home base school to the designed school and transportation back to the home base school at the end of the shift The floater will temporarily fill in for Food Service Worker, Cook or Porter classifications when there is an absence in one such position within the floaters area. Demonstrates commitment to Quest vision, values and missions through actions on a daily basis. Provide efficient, friendly and prompt service to the students and staff. Review menu and production to determine the type and quantities of menu items prepared. Assist in needed prep and service. Portion and arrange menu options. Assist in overall sanitation and organization of line and surrounding areas. Maintain open, positive and effective communication with others. Perform closing responsibilities, storing and cleaning of all line items and restocking all areas assigned. Complete new or non-routine tasks with little direction Assist others in closing procedures if time permits. Maintain and develop relationships with clients, guests and staff during events by using their names whenever possible and anticipating their needs. Follow HACCP guidelines to ensure safe food practices. Follow all Quest policies and food safety guidelines. Report to scheduled shifts on time and in complete uniform. Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements/Specifications Education and Experience:
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Required:
High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience Minimum of 1 year experience in a cash handling position Ability to perform simple arithmetic as well as to understand measurements and conversions Responsible for meeting and maintaining state and local certification requirements (Food Handler certification)
Preferred:
Previous experience in the food service industry working in schools / higher education
