Job Description

Our cosmetics client is seeking a Sample Preparation Assistant for their site in the Chicago area. The ideal candidate will possess experience with aseptic techniques. Recent grads are encouraged to apply!

Chicago, IL Job type: 6-month contract (possibility of extension or hire) Pay rate: $18/hr. - $20/hr., DOE Job Summary The Media Preparation Assistant is responsible for accurately weighing, measuring, staging, and documenting raw materials used in the manufacture of personal care products, including lotions, creams, shampoos, conditioners, and body washes. This position supports production operations by ensuring materials are prepared according to batch records, quality standards, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) while maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient work environment. Responsibilities Review batch records and production schedules to prepare materials required for manufacturing. Accurately weigh, measure, and stage raw materials according to approved formulations and procedures. Verify raw material identity, lot numbers, quantities, and expiration dates prior to use. Label and document prepared materials in accordance with GMP and company requirements. Transport prepared materials to production areas safely and efficiently. Maintain cleanliness and organization of media preparation areas, equipment, and storage locations. Complete all required documentation accurately and in a timely manner. Follow all safety, quality, and regulatory requirements, including GMP and SOP standards. Assist with inventory management activities, including material reconciliation and cycle counts. Qualifications B.S OR High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, cosmetic, pharmaceutical, food, or personal care environment preferred. Experience working in a GMP-regulated environment is a plus. Ability to read and follow batch records, work instructions, and standard operating procedures. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Basic math skills and ability to perform measurements and calculations. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. INDBH #LI-DNI
