Job Overview The Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking menu items according to Wendy's brand standards, recipes, and food safety guidelines. This role is essential to delivering fresh, high-quality food while maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen environment. The Cook supports restaurant operations by working collaboratively with the team to meet speed-of-service and guest satisfaction expectations. Key Responsibilities Food Preparation & Cooking Prepare and cook menu items according to Wendy's recipes, portion standards, and cooking procedures. Ensure food quality, freshness, temperature, and presentation meet brand standards. Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations. Properly handle, store, label, and rotate food products. Kitchen Operations Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work station and kitchen area. Operate grills, fryers, ovens, and other kitchen equipment safely, as permitted by applicable state age requirements. Monitor product levels and communicate shortages or quality concerns to management. Support speed-of-service goals through efficient and accurate food preparation. Teamwork & Guest Focus Work collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house team members. Follow direction from managers and shift leaders. Demonstrate reliability, teamwork, and a positive, professional attitude. Physical Requirements & Work EnvironmentPhysical Activity Standing, walking, bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, and grasping. Writing, reading order screens, and working with kitchen displays. Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling objects. Communicating with restaurant team members and management. Use of kitchen equipment and other restaurant technology, as permitted by applicable state age requirements. Physical Requirements Standing and walking for extended periods during the work shift.

Frequent use of hands for grasping, handling, and repetitive motions. Work Environment Work performed primarily in a restaurant kitchen environment. Exposure to heat, noise, wet or slippery surfaces, and cleaning chemicals. Fast-paced environment with variable schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Cognitive Demands (ADA/FEHA-Compliant) Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to maintain focus and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment. Requirements Previous cooking or quick-service restaurant experience preferred but not required. Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices preferred.
