Director of Food Services Position Summary The Cafeteria Dish Room / Custodial Support employee is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in the school kitchen and cafeteria dish room. This position ensures all dishes, utensils, kitchen equipment, and food service areas are properly cleaned and sanitized while assisting with floor care and general kitchen cleanup to support safe and efficient meal service operations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Operate commercial dishwashing equipment in accordance with health and safety standards. Wash, rinse, sanitize, and properly store dishes, trays, utensils, pots, and pans. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dish room and kitchen areas. Sweep and mop cafeteria and kitchen floors daily and as needed. Clean spills promptly to maintain a safe environment. Empty trash and recycling containers and transport waste to designated areas. Assist cafeteria staff with setup and breakdown of meal service when needed. Follow all local health department sanitation guidelines and food safety procedures. Maintain cleaning supplies and notify supervisor when inventory is low. Practice safe lifting, chemical handling, and equipment operation. Support overall cafeteria operations as assigned by the Food Service Director or Manager.QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

The ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. The ability to write routine reports and correspondence. The ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
: The ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. The ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.REASONING ABILITY
The ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. The ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
A working knowledge of quantity food preparation, sanitation principals, menu planning, inventory control, record keeping, and production schedules. A previous experience in food service. The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, and the school community. The ability to speak clearly and concisely both in oral and written communication. The ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.PHYSICAL DEMANDS
