Household Support and Meal Preparation Assistant

Role Overview The Household Support & Meal Preparation Assistant plays an essential role in the daily rhythm of our home. The primary focus of this position is healthy grocery shopping, meal preparation, dish management, laundry, and overall household cleanliness. We are seeking someone who enjoys caring for a home, preparing nutritious meals, and creating an environment that supports an active family. This role does not include childcare, transportation, or pet care. Top Priorities of the Role Healthy grocery shopping and meal preparation Daily dish management and kitchen reset Laundry management Overall household cleanliness and organization Primary Responsibilities Grocery Shopping, Meal Preparation & Kitchen Management Plan and shop for groceries with a focus on healthy, nutritious food choices Select quality ingredients that support an active, athletic household Manage pantry and refrigerator inventory Prepare healthy meals for the family, including leftovers for easy next-day meals Support consistent, balanced eating habits for growing children Manage all daily dishes, including loading and unloading the dishwasher, hand-washing pots, pans, and specialty items, and keeping the sink, counters, and stovetop clean throughout the day Perform a daily kitchen reset so the kitchen is clean, organized, and ready for the next day Follow proper food safety and sanitation practices Laundry Management Wash, dry, fold, and put away family laundry Manage towels, bedding, and household linens Maintain organized laundry systems and routines Ensure clothes and linens are consistently clean and available Household Cleanliness & Upkeep Maintain general cleanliness of the home, including the kitchen, bathrooms, common areas, floors, surfaces, and light organization Help keep the home calm, orderly, and welcoming Proactively notice household needs and address them Maintain household supplies (cleaning products, paper goods, etc.) Who We're Looking For The ideal candidate is someone who: Is highly trustworthy, dependable, and discreet Is comfortable working in a Christian household Has experience managing a home or supporting a family Enjoys grocery shopping and preparing healthy, nourishing meals Is organized, consistent, and self-directed Brings kindness, patience, and emotional maturity Takes pride in helping a household function well This role may be especially well-suited for a retired or semi-retired individual, particularly someone who enjoys caring for a home, cooking, and supporting a family in a meaningful, behind-the-scenes way.
