Kitchen Assistant

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting kitchen operations, ensuring food safety, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. Duties Assist chefs and cooks in the preparation of meals by chopping, slicing, and dicing ingredients. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment. Ensure all food safety standards are followed, including proper storage and handling of ingredients. Help with inventory management by checking stock levels and reporting shortages to the kitchen manager. Support catering events by preparing food items as directed and assisting with setup and cleanup. Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently while adhering to safety guidelines. Collaborate with team members to ensure timely meal preparation and service. Skills Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment is preferred but not required. Basic cooking skills with knowledge of various kitchen tools, including knives. Strong understanding of food safety practices and sanitation standards. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while maintaining a positive attitude. Excellent time management skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting.
