Schedule:
M-F and some weekends (40 hr week with varying hours)Job SummaryThe Kitchen Utility Worker supports the daily operations of the hospital kitchen by maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of food service areas. This role plays a critical part in ensuring a safe, sanitary, and efficient environment that supports patient care, staff meals, and visitor dining services.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Wash, sanitize, and properly store dishes, trays, utensils, pots, and pans
  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, workstations, floors, and storage areas
  • Assist with food preparation tasks as assigned, including portioning and basic prep
  • Transport food carts, supplies, and waste safely throughout the facility
  • Dispose of trash and recycling according to hospital and safety guidelines
  • Follow all infection control, food safety, and sanitation standards
  • Ad to hospital policies, OSHA regulations, and HACCP guidelines
  • Report safety hazards, equipment malfunctions, or sanitation concerns promptly
  • Support kitchen staff during peak service times as needed Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Prior food service or utility experience preferred, but not required
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Knowledge of basic sanitation and food safety practices
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Frequent bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling (up to 40 lbs)
