801 Restaurant Group full-time hourly positions typically work an average of 28-40 hours each week, depending on the needs of the restaurant location. Health, Dental and Vision insurance benefits are only available to 801 employees who meet the required threshold of weekly hours to qualify for participation in the Company's medical plan 801 Chophouse Minneapolis is hiring for a Pastry Cook! This is a full-time, non-exempt (hourly) position, working at our high end, successful steakhouse restaurant in downtown Minneapolis.
Requirements & Expectations:
At least 2 years of experience, but preferably 3 or more years of pastry / cold line experience Ability to successfully work the pastry station in a fast-paced / high stress environment while remaining calm, professional & working as part of a team Knowledge of molecular gastronomy, experience with cake making & decorating, petit fours/ mignardises, gluten-free, ice cream/sorbet, bread making, etc. Ability to handle knives, operate kitchen equipment & follow recipe / presentation guidelines while maintaining proper food safety & sanitation standards Coordinate food orders to support timely / efficient delivery to each table; meet special guest requests while ensuring same high-quality standards Ability to effectively communicate with BOH team in loud environment Must be available any day of the week, including nights, weekends & some holidays Regular, predictable and reliable attendance Physical requirements include, but are not limited to: Physical ability to work on your feet, alertly, for extended periods of time Continuous use of hands and arms; continuous bending, reaching & twisting Physical ability to frequently lift 20-30 lbs; & occasionally up to 50lbs Ability to squat, kneel, and climb
