  • $78,000 per year (based on experience with growth potential) We are a well-established, high-end banquet venue in Northern New Jersey seeking a professional, dependable, hands-on Banquet Sous Chef to join our culinary leadership team.
This is not an entry-level position . We are looking for a candidate with real banquet, catering, or high-volume event experience who can lead a team, stay organized under pressure, and execute consistently at a high standard. Our venue hosts elegant weddings, social events, and corporate functions for up to 360 guests with a reputation for quality and excellence. Who We're Looking For You are: Reliable, punctual, and take pride in showing up prepared Able to work weekends, evenings, and event schedules consistently Calm under pressure in fast-paced service Organized, clean, and detail-oriented A leader who can direct kitchen staff and maintain standards Serious about food quality, presentation, and consistency Looking for a stable, long-term opportunity Required Qualifications 3+ years of professional culinary experience Prior experience as Sous Chef, Lead Cook, Kitchen Supervisor, or similar Banquet, catering, hotel, country club, or high-volume kitchen experience strongly preferred Experience executing large events and multi-course service Knowledge of food safety, inventory, prep systems, and labor control Ability to work all stations when needed Responsibilities Assist Executive Chef with daily kitchen operations Lead prep and execution for weddings, banquets, and private events Supervise kitchen staff during production and service Ensure food quality, timing, cleanliness, and presentation standards Help manage ordering, receiving, organization, and waste control Maintain sanitation and safety standards at all times Compensation $61,000
