Job Description

We are seeking an experienced, hands-on chef/manager to support and help lead daily operations for a growing café and catering company specializing in fresh grab-and-go production, corporate catering, and events throughout New York City. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys both production and service, and takes pride in organization, consistency, food quality, and teamwork. Responsibilities Assist in overseeing daily kitchen production for café, grab-and-go, catering, and events Help manage prep schedules, production timelines, and kitchen workflow Lead and support kitchen staff during production and service Maintain recipe consistency, quality standards, and presentation Assist with inventory, ordering, receiving, and organization Ensure compliance with NYC DOH standards, sanitation, labeling, and food safety Support event execution and off-site catering production Help maintain SOPs and efficient kitchen systems Maintain a clean, organized, and professional kitchen environment Qualifications Minimum 3 years of professional kitchen experience / events, production, service Catering and production kitchen experience Ability to work efficiently, detail oriented Strong organizational and communication skills Flexible availability required, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and event days as needed NYC Food Handler Certification required or willingness to complete certification upon hiring English required; Spanish is a plus Positive attitude, reliability, and strong attention to detail
