Job Description

The Waverly Inn and Garden, located in the West Village, is hiring a pastry cook. We are looking for a team member to work M-F, 8am
  • 4pm, who can lead production of our pastry department.
Must be able to:
  • Make pate brisee and buttermilk biscuits.
  • Managed mise en place production for a 5 item dessert menu.
  • Overseeing quality and consistency in all pastry production and execution.
  • Assisting in ordering and inventory management in accordance with par systems, as well as reviewing products on a daily basis to ensure quality is consistent with kitchen standards.
  • Ensuring all health and safety standards are upheld by enforcing high sanitation standards.
  • Communicate effectively on a daily basis and remain aware of a weekly changing menu with updated recipes and specs.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment effectively without losing focus on priorities and while maintaining a high level of quality.
  • NYC Department of Health Food Protection Certification and a strong understanding, compliance, and enforcement of all best practices and procedures to maintain excellent restaurant hygiene conditions
  • Conversational Spanish is a great benefit.
  • Ability to lift up to 50# if necessary
