Every product is made from scratch with a strong focus on precision, technique, and visual presentation. We are seeking a passionate and skilled Commis 1 / Lead Pastry Cook to join our dynamic culinary team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing, baking, and decorating a variety of pastries, cakes, and desserts that delight our guests. You will play a vital part in maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation, and safety while supporting the overall pastry operations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary talent, develop your skills, and contribute to creating memorable dining experiences. Responsibilities Prepare and execute a wide range of pastries, cakes, and desserts with precision and creativity. Decorate cakes and pastries using various techniques such as piping, mirror glaze and chocolate work, ensure visually appealing presentations. Assist in packaging baked products for retail or catering purposes while maintaining quality standards. Support food production by following recipes accurately and ensuring consistency in taste and appearance. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry station, adhering strictly to food safety and hygiene regulations. Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines and uphold high-quality standards across all pastry offerings. Contribute ideas for new menu items and improve existing recipes to enhance customer satisfaction. Ability to lift up to 50lb occasionally Comfortable working with kitchen equipment and tools Requirements 5+years of experience in a bakery or pastry kitchen Strong attention to detail and consistency. Ability to work independently and within a team Prepare and assemble mousse-based desserts, biscuits, and components from scratch Produce fillings such as ganache, creams, caramel, and fruit preparations Knowledge of food handling safety procedures and kitchen hygiene standards. Skilled in culinary techniques including knife skills, food production, and food safety practices. Experience working in a fast-paced kitchen environment within the food industry or restaurant setting. Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently while maintaining high standards of cleanliness. Excellent customer service skills with a positive attitude towards teamwork and collaboration. Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks such as packaging, food prep, and decoration effectively.
