Job Description

Come fire things up with us at Yum's of PDX Portland's newest neo-Neapolitan sit-down pizzeria and bar. We're serving up wood-fired pizza, seasonal bites, and big flavor every night and we're looking for a detail-obsessed, fast-moving, and passionate Pantry / Line Prep Cook to help keep our kitchen tight and every plate looking (and tasting) dialed in.

What You'll Be DoingAs the Line Prep Chef, you'll be the hands behind expoing pizzas and also work on garmo making salad, appetizer, and dessert that hits the floor. You'll play a crucial role in keeping service flowing smoothly by prepping, assembling, and finishing our cold and room-temp dishes with precision and flair.

You'll work directly with the Kitchen Lead and the rest of the kitchen team with ownership to uphold our standards for flavor, presentation, and pace supporting a clean, efficient line and a well-organized pantry station.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
Owning the pantry stations (expo and/or garmo) prepping, plating, and finishing all pizzas, salads, cold appetizers, and dessertsManaging pantry mise en place and keeping ingredients prepped, labeled, and ready for serviceAssembling dishes to spec during service, with an eye for detail and balanceMaintaining a clean, stocked, and organized pantry station at all timesCommunicating closely with the line and expo to ensure smooth serviceKnowing the full menu inside and out including ingredients, allergens, and plating standardsSupporting daily prep work: dressings, dips, composed elements, garnishes, and moreAssisting with seasonal dish changes and specials, contributing ideas and feedbackJumping in on pizza finishing or expo when neededUpholding food safety and sanitation best practices at all timesWhat We're Looking ForYou love the rhythm of a well-run kitchen and have a sharp eye for detail. You're calm under pressure, confident in your station, and you thrive when every component is in its place.

Ideal candidates will have:1-2 years of experience in a kitchen (pantry or garde manger experience a plus!)Valid Oregon Food Handler's Card (or ability to get one within 14 days of hire)Strong knife skills and confidence with mise en placeA great sense of pace, plating precision, and pride in presentationClear, steady communication with teammates and the floorA strong sense of organization and cleanlinessComfort working in a fast-paced, high-volume settingExperience with prep, salads, and cold dish execution preferredWeekend and evening availability is a mustPerks & Compensation$17/hr + tipsComplimentary pre-shift mealsPaid sick leaveClosed on major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year s Day, etc.)Balanced scheduling with consecutive days off
