Gambino's Italian Cafe/Ravenite room is looking for a multi-talented bi lingual restaurant food expeditor (Expo) with line cook abilities. We are a new kitchen restaurant/bar that has had an overwhelming response in our 3.5 years being open. We are looking for a person to excel making high end food in a fast paced environment and make sure orders are prepared sent out beautifully and correctly in a timely manner. A personable, laid-back attitude/presence, team player (help others during down time) and great work ethic is what we are looking for! We are looking to fill multiple shifts. This is a family run business with an awesome staff and offers a fun environment and great tips for the right candidate. Must be 18 or over. Come be part of the Gambino family!
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE
What You Will Do Bridge the gap between front-of-house servers and back-of-house cooks. Check every plate for accuracy, temperature, and beautiful presentation. Manage ticket times to ensure tables receive food together. Keep expo station stocked with garnishes, plates, and condiments. Communicate clearly to resolve kitchen or modification issues quickly. Minimum 2 years' experience as Line cook/prep cook/expo in a high volume kitchen. Italian cuisine experience preferrable. Effective and clear communicator Excellent time management, organizational skills and calm demeanor. Proven history of excellent menu execution. Creative abilities inside the kitchen. Has the ability to speak and understand English and SpanishESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Complies with established sanitation standards, personal hygiene and health standards. Observes proper food preparation and handling techniques. Working with chef and kitchen staff to produce Gambino's meals accurately and on time so each ticket is served to Gambino's standards. Maintain a safe and clean work environment, compliant with all health department standards. Keeps all kitchen equipment clean, orderly and stocked. Accurately portions food.- Check in and receive deliveries as needed; Ensure accuracy
- Communicates with owner on low supplies, kitchen maintenance needed etc.
- Store food properly and safely; Mark the date and item; Practice first in/out dating on food
- Completes food temperature checks and standards
