Job Description

The Gig:
At District Taco the heartbeat of our restaurant comes from our Team Members and its starts with our Front of House (FOH) and Back of House (BOH) Team Members. The ideal Team Member will be capable of managing uncertainty, willing to push the limits, and takes ownership in their surroundings. We will provide the training and development you will need to feel confident in your position and ready to serve our guests safely every day. We take pride in our customer service and food quality and it's up to you and your team to create that experience that our guests expect from us. We welcome all skill levels in the food service industry from dishwashers, prep cooks, cooks or no experience at all, we are always looking for passionate and enthusiastic people to join us. Core Responsibilities:
Providing support to your fellow Team Members Following District Taco's safe food handling practices at during all stages Following recipes and inspecting ingredients before use to ensure quality
Quality Control:
alerting management of food that does not meet safety and quality standards Preparing and pre-portioning various food items as needed Using of all kitchen equipment safely Understanding dietary restrictions and the procedures to follow to avoid cross-contamination Following portioning guidelines when preparing orders Organizing storage areas and unpacking shipments to maintain proper rotation The washing of equipment and small-wares items
Qualifications:
Proficient in reading, writing, speaking and understanding English Strong interpersonal/people skills High level of motivation and sense of self-responsibility Ability to apply and maintain standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and personal hygiene Ability to demonstrate outstanding customer service skills on an ongoing basis Be physically active for long periods without getting tired or out of breath Stand and/or walk for 8 consecutive hours Use stomach and lower back muscles to support the body Coordinate movement of several parts of the body, such as arms and legs, while the body is moving Hold the arm and hand in one position or hold the hand steady while moving the arm Lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects for long periods without getting tired Lift 50lbs or more on a regular basis Work efficiently in a variety of hot or cold environments (e.g. refrigerated areas, close to cooking equipment, etc.) Work as quickly as certain tasks demand
