Responsibilities Assist with food preparation tasks such as chopping, peeling, and portioning ingredients to facilitate smooth kitchen operations. Support cooking activities by organizing ingredients and ensuring all items are ready for chefs to use during meal service. Maintain strict food safety and hygiene standards by properly handling food products and cleaning workstations regularly. Help with food service duties including plating, garnishing, and ensuring timely delivery of dishes to guests. Participate in menu planning discussions by providing input on ingredient availability and preparation methods. Handle kitchen equipment safely, including knives and other culinary tools, following all safety protocols. Assist with catering events and special functions by preparing ingredients and supporting the serving process. Experience Previous experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is highly desirable, demonstrating familiarity with food handling and safety procedures. Experience working in a restaurant or food industry environment provides a strong foundation for understanding kitchen operations and customer service expectations. Culinary experience or training in meal preparation, cooking techniques, and menu planning is advantageous. Familiarity with food safety regulations and proper food handling practices ensures compliance with health standards. Hands-on experience with knife skills, food preparation, and catering support enhances your ability to contribute effectively to the team. Previous roles involving food service or kitchen experience help develop the skills needed for this fast-paced position.
