In this role, you will support the culinary staff by assisting with food preparation, ensuring food safety standards are met, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. Your contribution will be vital in delivering high-quality meals and exceptional service to our guests or residents. Duties Assist with food preparation including chopping, slicing, mixing, and assembling ingredients for various dishes Support cooking activities by following recipes and instructions from chefs or dietary staff Handle food safely by adhering to proper food handling procedures and sanitation standards Help with meal plating and presentation to ensure appealing dishes are served promptly Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, utensils, and workstations throughout shifts Support catering events or special meal services by setting up serving stations and assisting with food distribution Ensure all food items are stored correctly in accordance with safety guidelines and inventory protocols Experience Prior experience working in a dietary department or food service environment is preferred Experience as a dietary aide or in a restaurant setting is highly advantageous Familiarity with menu planning, food preparation, and cooking techniques Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures Basic knife skills and proficiency in meal preparation techniques Exposure to the food industry or culinary environments that emphasize cleanliness, efficiency, and quality service Ability to work collaboratively within a team while maintaining attention to detail in food safety and presentation This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop your culinary expertise while supporting a vibrant kitchen team.
