Job Description
We are a small bakery-cafe in Sugar Land, TX looking for a reliable and motivated Pastry Assistant to join our team. If you're a fast learner who takes pride in a clean workspace and thrives in a busy kitchen environment, we'd love to hear from you.
SCHEDULE
Shift:
7:00 AM- 2:00/3:00 PM Early mornings required, including weekends 2 days off per week
COMPENSATION
$12/hour for the first 2 months (probationary period) $15/hour starting Month 3 RESPONSIBILITIES- Assist with daily pastry and baking production
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area at all times
- Follow all food safety and sanitation protocols
- Support the team during busy morning service
- Comply with uniform/dress code requirements (hair net, gloves, non-slip shoes)
REQUIREMENTS
Experience & Certifications:
- Prior experience in food service or a commercial kitchen is required
- 6+ months in a commercial kitchen or food production environment preferred
- Baking or pastry experience is a plus; willingness to learn is equally valued
- Valid Food Handler Certificate (Texas DSHS-approved, must be current)
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for the full shift (6-8 hours)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfortable with repetitive hand and wrist movements
Availability:
- Must be available early mornings, including weekends
- Consistent, reliable attendance is required; punctuality is critical
Legal:
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Background check may be required
