Full Job Description Job Summary:
The Pastry Helper supports the daily operations of the pastry department through hands-on assistance with preparation, baking, and maintenance tasks. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals passionate about baking and pastry arts who are eager to grow their skills in a fast-paced, professional kitchen environment. Under the guidance of the Pastry Chef or senior team members, the Pastry Helper plays a key role in ensuring the timely and high-quality production of baked goods for events, menus, and retail offerings.
Primary Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation and baking of breads, pastries, and desserts according to company recipes and specifications Measure, mix, and portion ingredients under supervision Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry kitchen, tools, and workstations Label, store, and rotate ingredients and baked goods properly Support the team with plating, garnishing, and basic decorating tasks Follow all health, sanitation, and safety procedures in accordance with company and regulatory standards Assist with inventory organization and stock rotation Communicate effectively with pastry team and broader kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations Take direction from senior pastry staff and respond positively to feedback Perform other duties as assigned in support of the pastry team
Qualifications & Skills:
High school diploma or equivalent required Previous experience in a kitchen or bakery setting preferred but not required Basic knowledge of baking techniques and food safety practices Willingness to learn and grow within the culinary field Strong attention to detail and time management skills Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively in a team environment Flexibility to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed Must be able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs

Pay:
$16.00 - $21.00 per hour
