Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Culinary Associate to join our vibrant culinary team in a Christian environment! In this role, you will be responsible for preparing nutritious meals and snacks in a safe, sanitary, and timely manner for children enrolled in our Child Development Center and for occasional church-related activities or events. This position supports the kitchen team by following meal plans, food safety standards, and childcare nutrition guidelines, while maintaining a welcoming, service-oriented environment consistent with the church's mission and values. Duties Prepare ingredients and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards, maintaining consistency in flavor and presentation. Prepare and cook daily meals and snacks in accordance with approved menus and portion guidelines. Assist with breakfast, lunch, and snack service for children and staff. Maintain the cleanliness and organization of kitchen stations, equipment, storage areas, and refrigerators. Wash dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment as needed. Receive, label, rotate, and properly store food deliveries. Monitor inventory and report low supplies or damaged products. Assist with basic food preparation for church meetings or special events when requested. Handle food preparation tasks such as chopping, marinating, portioning, and plating with attention to detail and food safety guidelines Operate kitchen equipment safely, including knives, ovens, grills, and fryers, demonstrating excellent knife skills and proper handling techniques. Support a welcoming, hospitable kitchen environment that reflects the Church's values and mission. Demonstrate kindness, patience, flexibility, reliability, punctuality, and a service-oriented attitude in daily interactions. Qualifications Food Handler Certification. High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous experience in food preparation, cafeteria, childcare, school, restaurant, or institutional kitchen environments preferred. Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation practices. Strong culinary experience with knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food handling safety standards Demonstrated knife skills and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively with kitchen staff and front-of-house team members Ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy pots or trays, and work under pressure during peak hours Join us and bring your culinary passion to life! From $18.00 per hour
