Duties Help Continuously observes swimming area to ensure safety of patrons. Ensures the swimming area is open to patrons at a scheduled times and only authorized persons are admitted to the area. Maintains order and enforces established rules of safety and behavior. Rescues swimmers in trouble, administers first aid, and calls for medical assistance if and when needed. Warns swimmers of unsafe environmental or health conditions and recommends closing swimming areas until safe conditions prevail. May operate water pumps and control chemical additives to ensure pool water meets specified standards. Ensures that diving boards, slides and any specialty equipment are inspected frequently for cracks, loose matting or hardware and necessary repair are made. Collects admission fees, make change, and complete appropriate forms. Assists in teaching swimming lessons and may assist in demonstrating basic swim strokes. Advise instructor concerning student progress/problems. May performs other related or incidental duties assigned for the daily operations. Performs other related duties as assigned.
