Job Description
Want a job where your work is actually play? Individuals of all ages who are young at heart and embody the spirit of playful enrichment for the benefit of little ones are encouraged to apply! Responsibilities include caring for children from ages 6 weeks to 10 years (this includes changing diapers, interacting, and monitoring them as they free play in the Apex Center Child Watch and Club House). Applicants should be comfortable being around kids, reading, and playing with them. Responsible for basic computer usage, basic cash handling, and general cleanliness of the department.
Hours :
Typical hours are between 4:00 pm to 8:15 pm. Weekend hours are typically between 8:00 am to 12:00 pm. Supervise and monitor children to ensure a safe, clean, and positive environment during child watch hours. Engage children in age-appropriate recreational activities, games, and quiet play. Enforce facility rules and behavior guidelines in a consistent and positive manner. Maintain accurate child sign-in/sign-out records and verify authorized pick-up of children. Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding their child's experience, behavior, or needs. Clean and sanitize toys, equipment, and surfaces to maintain health and safety standards. Respond appropriately to minor injuries or emergencies following established procedures. Report incidents, concerns, or safety issues to the supervisor promptly. Must be at least 18 years old. High School diploma preferred. Substantial experience taking care of children, ages 6 weeks to 10 years. Knowledge of basic child supervision and safety practices. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work well with children of varying ages and developmental levels. Ability to maintain a calm, positive demeanor in a busy environment. Ability to follow policies, procedures, and safety protocols. Must be able to obtain CPR/AED/First Aid certification within 30 days of hire. High School diploma preferred. Substantial e xperience taking care of children, ages 6 weeks to 10 years.Physical Activities:
Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and sit for extended periods. Ability to lift, carry, and/or assist children weighing up to 50lbs. Ability to reach, kneel, and participate in floor-level activities with children. Work Environment Indoor recreation or fitness facility; noise levels may be moderate to high due to children's activities. May involve exposure to cleaning and disinfecting materials.
