Seasonal First Aid Director / Assistant Camp Director Private Club - 5.0 Wilton, CT Job Details Part-time $21 - $22 an hour 7 hours ago Qualifications CPR Certification Outdoor work EMT Certification BLS Certification First aid First Aid Certification Full Job Description Job Description The First Aid Director / Assistant Camp Director is responsible for overseeing all camp health care services while also supporting daily camp operations and leadership functions. This position ensures the health, safety, and well-being of campers and staff and assists the Camp Director with program coordination, staff supervision, and overall camp management. Health Care & Safety Responsibilities Provide immediate first aid and emergency response for campers and staff. Monitor and manage the camp health center or first aid station. Maintain accurate medical records, incident reports, and medication logs. Administer medications according to camp policies and parental/medical instructions. Assess injuries and illnesses and determine when outside medical care is required. Communicate with camp leadership and parents/guardians regarding health concerns or emergencies. Ensure all health and sanitation standards are followed throughout camp facilities and activities. Maintain inventory and organization of first aid supplies and medical equipment. Train and support staff on emergency procedures, injury prevention, and basic health practices. Coordinate with local emergency services and medical providers when necessary. Assistant Director Responsibilities Assist the Camp Director with daily camp operations and program supervision. Help supervise, support, and evaluate camp staff and counselors. Assist with camper check-in/check-out procedures and daily scheduling. Support activity coordination, special events, and camp-wide programs. Help enforce camp policies, behavior expectations, and safety procedures. Serve as a leadership presence throughout camp activities and events. Assist in resolving camper and staff concerns in a professional and timely manner. Step in for the Camp Director when needed. Requirements Must be 21 or older CPR Certification through one of the following: American Red Cross, American Heart Association, National Safety Council, American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI), Medic First Aid International, Inc., Any organization using AHA and International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation guidelines for CPR and emergency cardiovascular care First aid certification from one of the following organizations: American Red Cross American Heart Association National Safety Council American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI) Medic First Aid International, Inc. National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) Wilderness Medicine Institute - Wilderness First Aid, Advanced First Aid, or First Responder Stonehearth Open Learning Opportunities, Inc. (SOLO) - Wilderness First Aid OR Current healthcare professional with one of the following licenses or certifications: Physician with a current CT license (or a physician licensed in another state whose standards are equivalent to or greater than CT requirements) Physician Assistant (PA) with a current CT license Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) with a current CT license Registered Nurse (RN) with a current CT license Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with a current CT license EMS Instructor (EMS-I) with a current CT certification EMT-Paramedic (EMT-P) with a current CT paramedic certification Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with a current CT certification Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) with a current CT certification Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) with a current CT certification Athletic Trainer with a current CT license Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills. Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in emergency situations. Experience working with children and adolescents is preferred. Physical Requirements Ability to respond quickly to emergencies across camp property. Ability to lift and carry basic medical equipment and supplies. Capability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
