Job Description

LIFEGUARD JOB DESCRIPTION
The Westchase HOA Lifeguard is responsible for ensuring the safety of residents and guests by preventing and responding to emergencies at the community pools. The ideal candidate is a mature, vigilant and professional who is comfortable enforcing pool rules in a friendly manner. Qualifications and Requirements Valid/Current Lifeguard/First Aid/CPR/AED Certification from an accredited organization. IF candidate is not certified, WCA HOA does provide certification required for the job, at applicant's expense. Strong communication skills to interact positively with residents. Strong customer service skills. Reliable and punctual. Ability to remain vigilant and observant for long periods. Must pass a background check. Must be willing and able to work in an outdoor environment subject to direct sun and varying temperatures and weather conditions. Must be able to stand for extended periods and sit in high lifeguard chairs.
Key Responsibilities and Duties Safety Monitoring:
Maintain constant surveillance of the pool area.
Rule enforcement:
Enforce community pool regulations and safety policies to prevent accidents.
Emergency Response:
Promptly identify and rescue swimmers in distress or danger of drowning.
First Aid & CPR:
Administer first aid, CPR, AED as necessary and assist in medical emergencies until emergency services arrive.
Facility Maintenance:
Perform regular checks of the pool deck, restroom, pool furniture and surrounding areas and keep the all clean and safe.
Reporting:
Document any safety issues, injuries or rule violations.
