Based on experience Job Overview Winter Park Racquet Club is seeking an enthusiastic, experienced, and motivated Swim Coach & Swim Lesson Instructor to join our Aquatics team. This position is responsible for providing high-quality swim instruction and coaching to members of all ages and abilities while promoting water safety, skill development, and a positive aquatic environment. The ideal candidate must have previous swim coaching and/or swim lesson instruction experience and a passion for helping swimmers achieve their goals. Responsibilities Provide private and group swim lessons for children and adults of varying skill levels. Coach swimmers in stroke development, endurance, technique, and competitive swimming skills. Develop lesson plans and training programs appropriate for age and ability levels. Evaluate participant progress and communicate effectively with swimmers and parents. Maintain a safe, positive, and encouraging learning environment. Ensure compliance with all aquatic safety standards and club policies. Assist with swim team practices, meets, clinics, and special aquatic events. Perform lifeguarding duties as needed and respond appropriately to emergencies. Assist with daily pool operations, equipment setup, and facility cleanliness. Promote participation in aquatic programs and help grow lesson and swim team enrollment. Maintain accurate records of lessons, attendance, and participant progress. Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and in-service programs. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Must be at least 18 years of age. High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous swim coaching experience and/or swim lesson instruction experience is required. Experience working with children and families preferred. Strong knowledge of swimming techniques, stroke mechanics, and water safety. Current American Red Cross Lifeguarding, CPR/AED, and First Aid certifications preferred or ability to obtain. Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification preferred. USA Swimming Coach certification preferred for coaching candidates. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate professionally with members, parents, staff, and management. Basic computer skills. Club or private facility experience preferred. Must successfully pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening as a condition of employment. Must maintain eligibility to work in the United States. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, and remain active for extended periods. Ability to work in outdoor conditions and around aquatic environments. Ability to lift and carry equipment and supplies up to 40 pounds. Ability to demonstrate swimming skills and enter the water as needed. Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
