Job Description
Our Caldwell YMCA is seeking Kid Zone Staff to join the team! This position is responsible for implementing developmentally appropriate experiences for children from 6 weeks to 6 years in a group setting and for the general safety of the participants in their group. The Caldwell YMCA opened its doors on October 27, 2005. Since that time, it has become a hallmark of the community, impacting the lives of thousands of kids and families. Facility amenities include a large cardio and weight floor, full-court basketball gym, three fitness studios, and a state-of-the-art aquatics center including a lap-pool, splash pad, pretzel slide, and lazy-river.
Create an environment that fosters safety through supervision and by role modeling safe behaviors.
Monitor and ensure safety of participants, staff and volunteers in assigned program areas.
Organize, supervise and facilitate children in a variety of activities that are culturally relevant, developmentallyappropriate in an indoor/outdoor setting.
Adhere to program standards including and cleanliness standards.
Resolve participant and parent concerns and issues. Follow appropriate incident response procedures.
Maintain program site equipment and required program records.
Ensure program facility, equipment is ready for use and deemed safe, including storage areas are clean and organized.
Six months of experience working with children 6 weeks to 6 years old preferred.
Must be able to engage others in conversations and make all people feel welcome.
Ability to respond calmly and quickly to safety and emergency situations.
Must have good interpersonal and communications skills and be sensitive, adaptable, professional, and articulate when dealing with others.
First Aid Certification. Prerequisite upon hire - 14-day compliance period.
Schedule:
This is a part-time position averaging up to 10-15 hours weekly. Schedule requirements are weekday morning and evenings on weekends (Saturdays and Sundays). Pay is $13.35/hour.Responsibilities:

Qualifications:
Must be 16 years of age, preferred High school graduate or equivalent.Six months of experience working with children 6 weeks to 6 years old preferred.

Must have good interpersonal and communications skills and be sensitive, adaptable, professional, and articulate when dealing with others.
REQUIRED LICENSURE AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
