Chicago, IL 60607 Position Overview Whitney Young High School is seeking a dedicated and experienced Aquatics Manager to oversee the daily operations of our aquatic facilities. The ideal candidate will ensure a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment for students, staff, and community members while promoting aquatic programs and activities that support physical education and competitive swimming. Key Responsibilities Manage and supervise all aquatic facility operations, including pool maintenance, safety protocols, and scheduling. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to aquatic facilities and safety standards. Coordinate and support swim teams, aquatic classes, and community programs. Hire, train, and supervise lifeguards, swim instructors, and other aquatic staff. Develop and implement emergency action plans and conduct regular safety drills. Maintain accurate records of pool usage, maintenance, and incidents. Collaborate with school administration, coaches, and community partners to enhance aquatic programming. Manage inventory and order supplies necessary for pool operations and maintenance. Qualifications Minimum of 3 years experience managing aquatic facilities or related roles. Current certification in Lifeguard Training, CPR/AED, and First Aid required. Strong knowledge of pool maintenance, water chemistry, and safety regulations. Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed. Experience working in a school or community aquatic environment preferred.
