Chicago, IL 60607 Job Description Whitney Young High School is seeking a responsible and attentive Lifeguard to ensure the safety of all swimmers at our facility. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in deep water and possess strong lifesaving skills. Previous lifeguard experience is preferred, but we are willing to provide training if hired. Key Responsibilities Monitor pool activities to ensure the safety of all swimmers. Enforce pool rules and regulations consistently and fairly. Respond promptly and effectively to emergencies and incidents. Maintain cleanliness and safety of the pool area. Perform routine safety checks and report any hazards or maintenance issues. Required Skills & Qualifications Certification or knowledge in Starguard, ARC (American Red Cross), and Ellis lifeguard programs preferred. Comfortable working in deep water environments. Previous lifeguard experience preferred. Willingness to undergo training if hired. Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills. Ability to remain calm and act quickly in emergency situations.
