The City of Fishers is hiring Lifeguards to help provide a safe and welcoming environment for our residents and visitors with all shifts available ! We're looking for vigilant, safety-minded individuals who enjoy working with the public and take pride in maintaining a secure aquatic setting. As a lifeguard, you'll monitor our indoor pool at the Community Center year-round, and during the summer months, you may have an opportunity to work at the Geist Waterfront Park beach. Examples of Duties Supervise swimming activities and ensure that policies, guidelines, and safety procedures are followed. Warn swimmers of improper activities or danger and enforce pool regulations and water safety policies. Perform water rescues, administers proper first aid and/or CPR, if needed. Participate in community activities/rental events at the Fishers Community Center pool and/or Geist Waterfront Park. Refrain from socializing while guarding and follow proper radio protocol when communicating with staff. Provide excellent customer service to all patrons by addressing inquiries, resolving concerns, and fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment. Solicit feedback from participants to continuously improve programs and services. Attend mandatory meetings and coach development in-services as scheduled. Set up and take down deck furniture. Test water chemistry and complete cleaning and maintenace checklist. Perform duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Must be at least 15 years of age . To work at Geist Waterfront Park lifeguards must be at least 16 years old. Current Lifeguard Certification including First Aid, CPR/AED, and Emergency Oxygen or ability to attend Lifeguard Certification training through City of Fishers. Must be able to pass the American Red Cross Lifeguard Prerequisite skills test. Provide excellent customer service to all patrons and staff. Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time. When working at Geist Waterfront Park, work will be outside in various weather conditions. Attend scheduled meetings and training sessions. Ability to lift 50 pounds.
