Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
The Exercise Center Attendant supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. This part-time position supports the Wellness team with welcoming and engaging facility users.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Greet and engage facility users. Maintain high visibility in the Wellness Center area; conduct periodic walk-throughs. Must be willing to earn and maintain American Red Cross CPR and First Aid certification (Certification will be provided by the YMCA upon hire) Enforce Wellness Center policies. Provide equipment orientation and timely follow-up. Ensure cleanliness and safety of environment. Adhere to emergency procedures and safety precautions. Follow procedures for reporting all accidents, incidents and hazards. Follows YMCA policies and procedures; responds to emergency situations. Obtain and maintain required training(s). Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must be 16 years of age CPR and First Aid certified - (Will be provided by the YMCA upon hire) Experience in the health and fitness field preferred Use of a variety of fitness equipment
SALARY:
Starting rate of $12 an hour
SCHEDULE
Part-time all year around (29 hrs per week) Wednesdays and Fridays 8:30 AM-12 PM & every other Saturday 6:45-10:30 AM. Subbing is required as needed.

Physical stamina to perform the duties as outlined above, including but not limited to extended periods of sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, reaching, lifting and carrying no more than 50 pounds.
