Seasonal Lifeguards

Berkshire South seeks seasonal lifeguards to staff indoor aquatics center and potentially outdoor lakes based on shift availability.

Key shifts needing support include:

Tuesday midday (10:15-3:45) and evening (3:30-8:15), Thursday evening (3:30-8:15 PM), Friday morning (6:30-10:30 AM), and Saturday/Sunday all shifts. Key Responsibilities Safety First:

Maintain constant surveillance of the pool area and water to ensure the safety of all patrons.

Rule Enforcement:

Fairly and consistently enforce all pool rules and safety regulations.

Emergency Response:

Act quickly and calmly in emergency situations, providing water rescues, First Aid, or CPR/AED as needed.

Facility Care:

Assist with light pool maintenance, including testing water chemistry and keeping the pool deck clear of hazards.

Environment Adaptation:

Transition between indoor shifts (climate-controlled) and outdoor shifts (weather-dependent), maintaining professional standards in both. Shift Details Some shifts are available immediately. Seeking employees through August 2026, with some opportunity for long-term employment. Shifts range from 6:15 a.m.-8:00 p.m. daily including holidays.

Requirements & Qualifications Certification:

Current Lifeguarding certification (Red Cross, YMCA, or equivalent).

Safety Training:

Current CPR/AED and First Aid for the Professional Rescuer.

Age:

Must be at least 16 years of age.

Skills:

Strong swimming skills and the ability to pass a pre-employment water skills test.
